Product Description

Ears forward, eyes half closed, mane falling in loose waves over the brow. This horse head bust is carved by hand from a single block of African Padauk, with a calm, noble expression that feels more like a portrait than a figurine. The plinth is carved from the same piece, so it stands ready on any shelf or desk.

🌿 Meaning & Symbolism

Across cultures the horse stands for strength, freedom, loyalty and steady forward motion. A horse head on a desk or mantel is a classic emblem of drive, success and quiet confidence.
In feng shui the horse brings career luck, speed and recognition. The saying "ma dao cheng gong", "success arrives with the horse", makes it a favourite gift for promotions and new ventures.
2026 is the Year of the Horse in the lunar calendar, which makes this bust especially meaningful for anyone born in a horse year (1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014, 2026).

🪵 The Wood & The Craft

Carved from solid African Padauk, a dense tropical hardwood, then finished by hand in a rich chestnut brown with darker tones in the mane and nostrils, and lighter highlights on the ears and cheekbones.
Carved 100% by hand by family artisans in Thuong Tin district, Hanoi. No CNC. Look at the veins along the face, the soft fold of the eyelid and the flowing strands of the mane: each is shaped with a chisel.
Smooth matte finish with the wood grain still visible, so every bust is slightly different in tone.
