Who Is Maitreya?
Maitreya is the Buddha yet to come — prophesied across Buddhist tradition to appear once the present teachings have faded, and to rediscover the path to enlightenment for a new age. Where a seated meditating Buddha often represents stillness already achieved, a seated Maitreya represents patience: the readiness of someone who knows their moment is still ahead of them.

🌿 The Wood & The Craft
Cypress is a naturally aromatic, fine-grained wood with a light, honey-gold color, long used in temple carving across East and Southeast Asia for both its pleasant scent and its natural resistance to insects and decay. At this smaller scale, its lighter weight and softer tone make for an easy, unobtrusive presence rather than a statement piece.
Every statue is hand-chiseled from a single block by artisans continuing a carving lineage passed through families in Thường Tín village for generations. Even at 13cm, the same hand-tool process applies — no shortcuts taken because of the smaller size.
