This Guan Yin Statue, hand-carved from solid Green Cypress, was made to hold that same stillness. Peace is not a distant place you go to — it is a space you create right within your own home.

🌿 What Does This Guan Yin Statue Symbolize?

Guan Yin, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is the bodhisattva of boundless compassion — the one said to hear the suffering of the world and answer it with gentleness rather than judgment. Her right hand rests in Shuni Mudra, the mudra of patience and discernment, where the middle finger meets the thumb to steady the mind against the noise of an ordinary day. Seated in full lotus pose on a blooming lotus throne, she holds a vase of nectar and a willow branch — a compassion soft enough to bend, never to break.

You don't need to practice Buddhism to welcome her into your home. For many, she's less a religious icon and more a quiet reminder that stillness is always available, right where you're standing.

🌿 The Craft & The Wood

Before you see her, you'll likely notice the scent first — a sweet, clean, forest-like fragrance that lives inside solid Green Cypress. Many find it settles a room before anything else does. This isn't a fragrance that was applied; it's part of the wood itself, which is why it never fades — only deepens with time.

Each statue is hand-finished by skilled artisans carrying on Vietnam's woodcarving tradition — chisel in hand, no CNC, no shortcuts. Her expression, the fold of her robe, the particular curve of the lotus beneath her — all of it shaped one cut at a time. The wood's warm golden tone will deepen gently over the years — a living finish, not a flaw to correct. Because each piece is carved from a single block, the grain you receive is entirely its own; no two statues are ever quite the same.

This is heirloom-quality work, built to be handed down rather than replaced.

🎁 A Meaningful Piece — For Yourself or Someone Else

Sometimes this is simply the piece you choose for your own quiet corner — a way to mark the return to stillness you've been putting off. Other times it's for someone else: a friend settling into a new home, a mother who has spent her life creating peaceful corners for everyone but herself, someone moving through a hard season who could use one still thing to look at. Either way, she arrives with her base already included — nothing more to source, nothing left to figure out.

Feng shui placement note: traditionally, a meditation corner or home altar facing inward is believed to gather the room's peaceful energy, and a bookshelf or desk at eye level is believed to ease mental tension. Placing her facing directly out through the front door is traditionally believed to scatter that calm — better to angle her gently into the room, and away from bathrooms and kitchens where moisture and grease can seal the wood's pores.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0796/6123/6456/files/3_689addd9-50b6-4438-8adf-28f70ebffc87.jpg?v=1790084943
https://stilllotusstudio.com/products/scented-cypress-guan-yin-statue-hand-carved-compassion-goddess-avalokiteshvara-for-home-altar
